Larger Than Life
“The Maryland R&B star’s third album is stacked with DMV-area talent and storytelling reminiscent of your most toxic ex. But how does he really feel?”
Lost - EP
“Amid newfound success, the soulful Los Angeles singer voices the anxieties of growing up and meeting creative expectations during turbulent times.”
Sonder Son
“On his heartfelt new album, R&B upstart Brent Faiyaz finds joy in the midst of struggle. He works through his pain without kowtowing to radio trends, offering a promising debut.”
WASTELAND
“The singer’s latest album is both overbearing and underbaked, smothering lovely vocals and intriguing ideas underneath blockbuster features and irritating interludes.”
Icon
“The R&B singer pivots from clubrat deviance to domestic devotion. When he leans into the honesty and specificity of his player music, he makes love feel like more than just a catalyst for a rebrand.”
WASTELAND
“Wasteland reaches a pretty strong finish, but it's a case of too little, too late.”

“This album has elements that made me believe Brent was taking his sound more towards that old school dance RnB sound but so many times he reverted to his safe standard formula for songs. That’s not to say there’s not good music here for some and those songs that do go for that sound I think do so very well. The lead single for this album although I enjoy I didn’t think needed the heightened vocals. A good comeback for Brent but needed a much more decisive theme and better narratives to captivate me more. FAVOURITE TRACKS: other side., world is yours., pure fantasy. LEAST FAVOURITE TRACKS: four seasons., strangers., vanilla sky. See the full review on tt @tracklisted0 soon —>>”

“Maybe I’m not understanding correctly but I thought the album was rather repetitive. It wasn’t unenjoyable it was just bland, especially in comparison to his other songs.”
F**k the World
“Likely the best Faiyaz album I have listened to thus far. Been Away is sensational.”

“The title said it all. It’s 12th Feb, two days away from valentine’s and I still can’t move on from a semi-heartbreak I got from my failure of a situation-ship. This album legit had me making made-ups conversations in my head, like all the what-ifs could happen if I said something or said nothing at all, and it’s groovy enough for me to just bop my head too. 10/10–no skips, genuinely.”

“Really great album!! My favorite songs, being four seasons, butterflies, pure fantasy, vanilla sky, wrong face, and white noise”
