“In between playing with Cecil Taylor in the early 70s and forming the instrumental trio the Notekillers in 1977, David First took a class in electronic music at Princeton, where he got to play a Buchla 100 modular synthesizer. Judging by the dizzying music he made, released as Electronic Works 1976-1977, First dove headlong into the Buchla’s possibilities.”
