Bewitched: The Goddess Edition

Bewitched: The Goddess Edition

7.9

Bewitched: The Goddess Edition is Laufey at her most magical. Expanding on the already enchanting original, this edition adds even more heart and beauty to an album that was already near-perfect. Laufey’s vocals remain utterly spellbinding—smooth, expressive, and soaked in old-soul charm—while the added tracks deepen the emotional palette and show just how much she’s grown as an artist. New songs like “Goddess” and “It’s Never Been About Us” feel like hidden diary entries—vulnerable, poetic, and gracefully composed. The orchestration throughout is rich and cinematic, making the entire album feel like it belongs in a black-and-white romance film. There’s a quiet power in Laufey’s storytelling—delicate but never dull, dreamy but grounded in real emotion. The Goddess Edition elevates Bewitched into something even more immersive and timeless. Laufey continues to prove she’s a force in modern jazz-pop, and this version feels like her most complete vision yet.

8.3

Bewitched is a lush, enchanting step forward for Laufey, blending her signature vintage jazz sound with more confidence and emotional depth. Her voice remains as velvety and captivating as ever, but this time around, the production feels even more refined. Songs like “From The Start” and “Promise” are instant standouts—swooning, cinematic, and effortlessly romantic. What makes Bewitched shine is Laufey’s growth as a songwriter. She captures the ache and wonder of love with poetic grace, making the album feel both intimate and universal. Some tracks lean a little too heavily into the dreamy softness, occasionally blurring together, but the overall atmosphere is hard to resist. This album proves Laufey isn’t just a one-note nostalgic act—she’s crafting her own lane with elegance and heart. A beautiful listen from start to finish.

7.9

Laufey’s Everything I Know About Love is a dreamy, jazz-tinged journey through romance, longing, and self-reflection. Her voice is warm and intimate, like a friend telling you secrets late at night, and her classical and jazz influences shine through in every arrangement. Tracks like “Valentine” and “Let You Break My Heart Again” blend elegance with emotional honesty, proving she knows how to pull on heartstrings without ever overdoing it. What makes the album special is how timeless it feels—it’s modern, but also feels plucked from another era. While a couple of tracks blend into each other a bit, the overall atmosphere and craftsmanship are undeniable. Laufey has a unique ability to make sadness sound beautiful, and Everything I Know About Love is a testament to that gift. A strong debut that promises even more to come.

Laufey’s A Matter of Time is dreamy, timeless, and full of the emotional storytelling that makes her music so magnetic. She blends jazz, classical, and modern pop in a way that feels both vintage and fresh, carrying you through heartache, longing, and quiet moments of joy with elegance. Her voice is warm and intimate like she’s singing directly to you and the arrangements are lush without ever feeling overdone. The album might not surprise longtime fans as much as it comforts them, but that’s part of its charm: it’s consistent, graceful, and beautifully crafted. A Matter of Time feels like curling up with a favorite book. You know exactly why you keep coming back.

i’m gonna be honest i’ve always found her music to be very derivative but overall she really surprised me. the lyricism didn’t really improve but i love the arrangements on this one, especially the strings, i found myself just tuning her out to hear the instrumentals. her voice is lovely but i wish she would work on changing her range cause the songs do blend together at times. fav song is cuckoo ballet(interlude) it’s so so dreamy
