L'Amour
“The liner notes for Light in the Attic’s new reissue of L’Amour, the only known album by an artist known as Lewis*,* read more like a murder mystery than a making-of. Full of gently dissolving melodies and gossamer synths (credited to a guy named Philip Lees, also a mystery), the album has become crate-digger lore, as much for the backstory as for the music itself.”
Romantic Times
“It sounds too good to be true. Just two months after Light in the Attic released L’Amour, the amazing lost debut by an artist known as Lewis, vinyl hunter-gatherers in Canada found what appeared to be an even more lost second album. Romantic Times is certainly more self-conscious than Lewis’ debut; it’s loopier, kitschier, and less personal, although it might be more fun, too.”
