Die Lit
“The Atlanta rapper’s official debut is an album that works almost completely from its own lunatic script. It is a perversely infectious sugar high, rap that fundamentally recalibrates the brain’s reward centers.”
Whole Lotta Red
“The Atlanta rapper’s third record is both wildly innovative and strikingly consistent. It’s hard, melodic, experimental, and unlike anything else happening in mainstream rap.”
MUSIC
“‘Music’ is an album as audacious as Playboi Carti himself. The maverick born Jordan Carter has been a cult figure for years, forging internet classics with the likes of Lil Uzi Vert and fellow Atlantan Ethereal even before 2017 hit ‘Magnolia’ made him a SoundCloud-era superstar. Nearly five years after his last record, ‘Whole Lotta Red’, the enigmatic trap overlord has finally returned with his th”
Whole Lotta Red
“On the most anticipated and ambitious project of his career, the SoundCloud-rap icon channels the cathartic spectacle of metal and hardcore punk.”
MUSIC
“Carti’s long-awaited third official album is a blockbuster event that synthesizes all of his impulses—good and bad—into a dizzying, inspired, vibes-driven, 30-track flood of everything.”
Playboi Carti
“The young Atlanta rapper’s debut mixtape finds a cloudy and economical mood and stays there, but it’s Carti’s magnetic confidence that turns just enough into plenty.”
Playboi Carti
“Top 2 Carti for me, the cash Carti era was definitely his best when he first really started making a name for himself in 2016-17. Production on this album is great with wavy, trippy sounding instrumentals with soft 808s and drums over the top of them paired with Carti’s lazy, relaxed flows is perfect. For a debut album it’s great from Carti. Top songs for me are ‘Location’ ‘Magnolia’ ‘Lookin’ ft Lil Uzi Vert ‘wokeuplikethis*’ ft Lil Uzi Vert ‘Let It Go’ ‘New Choppa’ ft A$AP Rocky”
Die Lit
“Cartis best album for me. Production on this album is great, Carti & Pierre Bourne rarely miss and having him produce majority of the songs is a no brainer. Features on the album are great too. Top songs for me are ‘Long Time - Intro’ ‘R.I.P.’ ‘Love Hurts’ ft Travis Scott ‘Shoota’ ft Lil Uzi Vert ‘Right Now’ ft Pi’erre Bourne ‘Fell In Luv’ ft Bryson Tiller ‘FlatBed Freestyle’ ‘No Time’ ft Gunna ‘Choppa Won’t Miss’ ft Young Thug”
MUSIC - SORRY 4 DA WAIT
“I wish he never went with the ‘Grammy’ route/sound he talks about his fans every show every time he speaks out. He should’ve dedicated this to them after an almost 6 year wait. The ATL homage and trap beats were cool but some tracks could’ve been better and he could’ve actually did a song with uzi. Replay value isn’t as high as I expected and I hope we get a better sound in Baby Boi”
Whole Lotta Red
“Revolutionary. Who would’ve thought Carti would’ve birthed and created so many new rappers and sounds in today’s games. Probably the most iconic rapper of our current generation and so many rappers inspire and pay homage to his career while he is still active. Loved every single song. First listen was amazing, glad people took time to realize the greatness.”
MUSIC
“A mess from start to finish. Really struggled to finish listening to this album, it’s so messy and unpolished from the production to the rapping from Carti. Over an hour of music and I could only pick 2-3 songs off the track list I would listen to again. Top songs ‘RATHER LIE’ ft The Weeknd ‘BACKD00R’ ft Kendrick Lamar & Jhene Aiko ‘EVIL J0RDAN’”
Whole Lotta Red
“A really tough listen at times, Carti really leans into the rockstar/rage style on this album but also uses this ridiculous baby voice throughout the album too. Definitely some good things on the album but majority is a struggle to get through. Top songs are ‘Slay3r’ ‘Vamp Anthem’ ‘Place’ ‘ILoveUIHateU’ ‘Not Playing’”
MUSIC
“Carti really gives us a versatile album consisting of his sound and his new sound. We hear Cash Carti in some songs as well as his Whole lotta red era. He also pays tribute back to his Atlanta roots. The wait was well worth it and overall MUSIC is just a once in a generation album”
Whole Lotta Red
“Everthing about this album is so beautiful and original, nobody will do it better than King Vamp. This album is truly ahead of its time and changed music forever. It’s one of the musical benchmarks we will look back at hundreds of years from now. Thank you Playboi Carti.”
