The Trial of St. Orange
“If you place any faith in the Fork at all, if you give any credence to our pretentious ramblings, if you've ever picked up a record because we told you to; then please, dear readers, do yourself a favor. Stop reading this review now and tear yourself away from that Spoon album. Then, buy/burn/download/steal/or otherwise get hold of a copy of the Shalabi Effect's *The Trial of St-Orange*. Go listen”
Shalabi Effect
“Just after Godspeed You Black Emperor! licensed *f#a#oo* to Kranky, the word was that their next release would be a split-CD with a band called the Shalabi Effect, to be titled *Aural Florida*. The split record never came to be, and Godspeed eventually released last year's *Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada* EP before settling down to work on the highly anticipated *Lift Your Skinny Fists like Antenna”
Unfortunately
“This live album was recorded at an arts festival in the genre-hopping Alien8 band's hometown of Montreal.”
