World Painted Blood
βThe best album from thrash metal's Big FourΒ (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax) since the 1990s isΒ fast, finely controlled, and nearly fat-free.β
Repentless
βRepentless, the 12th album from the thrash metal institution Slayer, comes at the most fraught time in the band's career. But despite the death of founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman and the absence of founding drummer Dave Lombardo, it offers the best possible outcome.β
Repentless
βDecades after Metallica and Megadeth started writing radio-friendly songs, thrash-metal firebrands Slayer are still courting controversy β depicting Jesus in hell on their new LP cover and howling, "A little violence is the ultimate drug/Let's get high!" on standout "Vices." Chilean-American frontman Tom Araya even teases a race war on "Pride in Prejudice." It's Slayer's first record without late β
Reign In Blood
β**π Thoughts:** Often viewed as one of thrash metalβs best, *Reign in Blood*, Slayerβs third full-length LP delivers relentless guitar riffs and explosive drumming. Overall, this album is fantastic, with what I regard to be perfect drumming from Dave Lombardo and the masterfully crafted riffs from Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King. The only thing holding this album back from being perfect is the vocal performances on βNecrophobic,β βJesus Saves,β and βReborn,β where it seems vocalist Tom Araya is speaking so rapidly to the point where itβs unintelligible and a tad unpleasant. Other than that, perfect album. **πΆ Tracklist Review** 1.) Angel of Death π£ 2.) Piece By Piece π΅ 3.) Necrophobic π‘ 4.) Altar Of Sacrifice π£ 5.) Jesus Saves π’ 6.) Criminally Insane π’ 7.) South of Heaven
β**π Thoughts:** I love this album. Many great riffs across this album, and a lot of the hooks are amazing. Also canβt forget Dave Lombardoβs flawless drumming, and in my opinion a huge improvement in vocal performance from Tom Araya compared to their debut *Reign in Blood*. **πΆ Tracklist Review** 1.) Seasons In the Abyss
β**π Thoughts:** Slayerβs fourth album from 1990 titled *Seasons in the Abyss* brings the same level of consistency as their previous three, packed to the brim with memorable riffs from Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King and lightning fast drumming from Dave Lombardo. **πΆ Tracklist Review** 1.)
