The announcement of a new Oblivians album in 2013 was a big deal. The Memphis trio's last proper full-length came out 16 years ago, and showed a punk rock band at the height of their power: legitimately funny, provocative, and dangerous. For Desperation, the grown Oblivians swear off their former nihilism.
