PLAYA SATURNO
Rauw Alejandro (2023)
“Playa Saturno feels like Rauw Alejandro loosening up without losing the vision he built on Saturno. It’s warmer, groovier, and more playful, but still rooted in that spacey, late-night atmosphere that’s become his signature. As a fan, it’s satisfying to hear him sound this comfortable - like he knows the world he created works, and now he’s just having fun inside it. The album leans heavier into rhythm and flow, with tracks that feel made for cruising rather than overanalyzing. Not every song stands out on its own, and some ideas feel familiar if you lived in the Saturno era for a while, but the consistency keeps it engaging. Rauw’s charisma carries the project effortlessly, and his ear for melody never slips. Playa Saturno might not hit with the same “wow” factor as its predecessor, but it doesn’t need to. It’s a confident extension of that universe, made by an artist who knows his strengths.”
