Chase & Status (2007)
“A big old bag of mixed electronic nuts”
“More Than Alot is thriving electronic music duo Chase & Status' debut album and oh boy does it have alot to answer for.. or should I say it has more than alot to answer for! (I'm sorry that was really unfunny.) But seriously, this album is more than a drum and bass album, it's a drum and bass and jungle and dubstep and hip hop and pop album just merged into one masterpiece of electronic dance music, being way ahead of its time especially for 2008. When dubstep producers were still wub wubbing, chase and status were giving those wubs a makeover and letting them run free, making Benga, Coki, Skream and every other legend in that industry of wub wubs look like ants, while Chase & Status were stomping away in the background with an infinity gauntlet boot of every genre ever created, discretely towering over every other music producer of their time and basically saying "whatever you're doing, we're probably doing better". More Than Alot has aged like fine wine, but god damn I will forever chug away at this bottle. Top 3 standouts: - Running - Take Me Away - Pieces (feat. Plan B) Worst Tracks (not necessarily terrible) - Take You There (feat. Digga) - Saxon”
