“Venom's "Black Metal" is one of the most influential metal albums of all time in my opinion. Though its not technically "black metal", it inspired legendary black metal bands such as Bathory. The release of this LP was one of the first times blatant satanic imagery was apparent in the media. It pushed the boundaries of the mainstream music scene and made a significant stride in both the NWOBHM scene and the black metal scene.”
