Tyler, The Creator (2009)
“Album Review #78”
“LISTENED: 5/11/2026 This album shows some unique and catchy production at times (although some beats do sound the same), and while it shows some decent rap skills as well, the extremely graphic nature of the lyrics doesn’t appeal to me on a “pleasure of listening” level, even if it is TRYING to be annoying. Themes around being fatherless and the essence of troubled youth are captured very well in this album, along with the solid narrative, but keep this off the AUX at all costs.”

Tyler,The Creator's full-length debut is a surprising collection of beats and rhymes coming from a teenage kid. On this album, Tyler lashes out against hip hop, his negligent father, and rap blogs. He says most things for the lulz, but it's hard not to laugh along with him.
