“LISTENED: 5/20/2026 After Kendrick Lamar’s 5-year hiatus with no songs or albums to his own name, this album shows that he spent those 5 years very well, as this album represents the reflection he had done on himself, his past, and his future, serving as a musical mirror. Lyrically, this album is incredible in expressing emotional thought, but naturally, as on most thought-focused albums, the pleasure of listening to the music itself needs to be pushed aside for the importance of the lyrical focus. It shows very well how Kendrick thinks, why he thinks that way, and embraces the process of self-discovery. Pretty nice.”

this is a great record by kendrick, i love how sentimental he gets here with tracks like mother i sober, father time, & we cry together. i have always adored the way kendrick rapping style and this shows it off perfectly. my favorite track is count me out.
