Like 70s post-punks Wire, British rockers The Futureheads show little regard for traditional verse/chorus/verse structure, yet still manage to come away with irresistably hook-laden songs that cover an immense amount of ground in impossibly brief periods. Riding elaborate four-part harmonies and frequently injecting unexpectedly weird segments between verses, the band prove themselves as tight as Dischord's finest post-punks, with the riffs and hooks necessary to flesh out their raw technical skill. Gang of Four guitarist Andy Gill produces.
