It's impossible to talk about Ballet School without mentioning the 1980s, but vocalist Rosie Blair’s skyscraping tendencies and the modest production on their debut album actually situates the record in 2010 more than it does 1984. The Dew Lasts an Hour is more effective as ambience than pure pop.
