Growing up on Disney Channel, Hilary Duff wasn’t just a pop star…she was a whole era. So revisiting Metamorphosis hits with a wave of pure nostalgia… but musically, it’s a mixed bag. There’s no denying how massive and defining “So Yesterday” and “Come Clean” felt at the time — glossy, teen-pop anthems that practically raised a generation. But beyond those standouts, the album leans heavily on early-2000s pop formulas that don’t always hold up. The vocals are sweet but limited, and some of the deeper cuts blur together. Still, Metamorphosis captures that innocent, diary-entry energy that made Hilary so relatable. It’s not a groundbreaking pop record, but as a time capsule of Disney Channel’s golden era? It’s undeniable!
