**πŸ’ Thoughts:** There are some great samples, and the production is really strong overall. I think a few of the rapper features could’ve been better, but they don’t take much away from the album for me. My biggest issue is that most of the songs feel as if they don’t have a lot of replay value. It’s an important and well-executed statement, but I don’t see it reaching the same classic status as *To Pimp A Butterfly* or *good kid, m.A.A.d city*. Of course, only time will tell. **🎢 Tracklist Review** 1.) wacced out murals 🟒 2.) squabble up 🟒 3.) luther 🟒 4.) man at the garden 🟣 5.) hey now πŸ”΅ 6.) reincarnated 🟑 7.) tv off πŸ”΅ 8.) dodger blue 9.) peekaboo 🟣 10.) heart pt. 6 🟣 11.) gnx 🟑 12.) gloria πŸ”΅ ──────────────────── **πŸ€” Track Rating Scale** 🟣 Favorites β€” My favorite song(s) on the album πŸ”΅ Loved β€” Really enjoyed it and will revisit often 🟒 Liked β€” Enjoyed it, but it’s not one I’d revisit often 🟑 Mixed β€” Has some good moments, but also some bad, most likely won’t revisit 🟠 Disliked β€” Didn't enjoy it much, won’t be revisiting πŸ”΄ Hated β€” Will skip every time βšͺ️ Interlude, etc β€” Not rated as an actual song ──────────────────── **πŸ… Ranking Scale** 10 β€” Perfect 9 β€” Exceptional 8 β€” Great 7 β€” Good 6 β€” Decent 5 β€” Average 4 β€” Below Average 3 β€” Poor 2 β€” Bad 1 β€” Awful 0 β€” Unlistenable

LISTENED: 5/20/2026 Represents a victory lap after what Kendrick felt like to be a win against a big public rap battle back-and-forth with another rapper by the name of β€œDrake”, with Kendrick highlighting west-coast sounds, dance moves, features, and a special pride in what he’s accomplished, where he comes from, and his thoughts at the moment. The lyrics are nice and complex, showing good lyricism and expression, as well as few tracks sounding really nice when it focuses its catchy hip-hop beats. But for me, while this album built a great soundscape that I could enjoy, I can’t personally resonate with it, since these prominent west-coast sounds don’t appeal to my origins in the slightest, preventing me from appreciating them fully. Not bad at all, just not for me.
