A classic of Spanish jazz rap that sounds like nothing else produced by its contemporaries, neither in lyrical composition nor in musical terms. Although it is credited to the Zaragoza-based group Flowklorikos, the album is, in practice, 90% performed by Rafael Lechowski, who would later re-record many of these tracks on “Donde duele, inspira (jazz version)”.
It is remarkable how much they achieve musically with nothing more than a sampler and a deep cultural knowledge of jazz. Aunque esté firmado bajo el nombre del grupo zaragozano Flowklorikos, el disco es en un 90 % interpretaciones de Rafael Lechowski, quien luego regrabaría muchos de estos temas en “Donde duele, inspira (versión jazz)”.
Es increíble lo mucho que logran musicalmente con tan solo un sampler y un gran conocimiento cultural del jazz. Es una de esas obras que consiguen un equilibrio entre el estilo y la sustancia, pues las letras ocupan un espacio frontal junto a los beats. El discurso de “Donde Duele Inspira” orbita constantemente el ego trip, algo indivisible de todas las iteraciones del hip hop, sin importar el país al que llegue; además de una fuerte inclinación a la soledad y la melancolía, como lo indica el título del proyecto.
