Happier Than Ever
“an artist secures her status as a generational great”
WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
“Some artists defy descriptions. Or, at least, their inspirations, methods and expressions are often so astounding, it’s futile to try and label what they actually sound like. This line of thought, among many, is something that is becoming routine when the name Billie Eilish is mentioned. There’s plenty of talk about her “vibe” and “aura”, but little in the way of nailing down what the hell a Billi”
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
“Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft is a luminous treasure”
WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
“Billie Eilish cuts through the hype with superb debut LP”
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
“Working again with the instrumental talents of her brother Finneas, Eilish’s third album yanks her out of her former teen stardom and gives her the space to reckon with the complexities of her own confusing and liberating adulthood.”
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
“Hit Me Hard and Soft is cohesive thematically, but in terms of what Eilish is singing over, the pair of siblings sound completely rejuvenated. Hit Me Hard and Soft can be devastating, though, and those experiencing some form of heartbreak will likely connect instantly with the album’s earnest journey.”
Happier Than Ever
“As a recent new Billie fan, Happier Than Ever feels like a really important step in her journey — both personally and musically. This album is quieter and more introspective than WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, but that’s what makes it so powerful. Billie isn’t trying to recreate the past — she’s growing, reflecting, and letting us hear every part of it. The production (again, huge props to FINNEAS) is more stripped back, which puts the spotlight on her lyrics and voice — and wow, her voice is so delicate and expressive throughout. Songs like “Your Power,” “Male Fantasy,” and “Halley’s Comet” are absolutely heart-wrenching. You can feel the weight behind every word. Of course, the standout for me — and probably many others — is the title track, “Happier Than Ever.” The way it builds and explodes with emotion is just chef’s kiss. It’s raw and cathartic and feels like a scream she’s been holding in for years. Why four stars instead of five? A couple of the songs felt a bit slower-paced and didn’t stick with me as much as others on first listen — but even those grew on me over time. It’s an album that rewards patience. Overall, Happier Than Ever is vulnerable, mature, and beautifully honest. It’s not always easy listening, but it’s real — and that’s what makes it so special. Billie is evolving, and I’m here for every second of it.”
WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
“Billie Eilish’s debut album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, was nothing short of a cultural reset. When it dropped, it felt like something completely new — weird, wonderful, and totally fearless. Billie didn’t just bend the rules of pop music; she pretty much made her own. The production is haunting, glitchy, and super minimal (FINNEAS killed it), and Billie’s whispery, emotion-packed vocals somehow make every track feel both intimate and eerie. Tracks like “bury a friend,” “you should see me in a crown,” and “ilomilo” still hit just as hard today — creative, creepy, and endlessly replayable. Of course, “bad guy” became a massive anthem, and while it was everywhere, it actually deserves the hype. It’s catchy but also strange and fun in a totally Billie way. What keeps it from being a full five stars for me is that a couple tracks feel more like interludes or vibe pieces than fully fleshed-out songs — but that also kind of works for the dreamlike, sleep-paralysis-fever-dream feeling of the album. Overall, it’s an incredible debut that showed the world Billie wasn’t just a teenage trend — she was here to shift the landscape. Dark, clever, and totally original — this album is unforgettable.”
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
“Billie Eilish has done it again — Hit Me Hard and Soft is nothing short of brilliant. From the very first track, I was completely pulled into her world. It’s raw, intimate, haunting, and somehow still full of power and confidence. The production is next-level (shoutout to FINNEAS, as always), and Billie’s vocals have never sounded more beautiful or emotionally charged. Each song flows into the next like chapters in a story. The lyrics are poetic and honest, touching on vulnerability, identity, love, and growth in a way that only Billie can deliver. She’s not afraid to experiment, and yet everything feels intentional and deeply personal. Favorites? Honestly, it’s hard to pick — every track has its own unique vibe, but I keep replaying [insert a few standout songs if desired]. It’s the kind of album you can cry to at 2AM and blast in your car with the windows down. This isn’t just an album, it’s an experience. Hit Me Hard and Soft feels like Billie letting us into her soul, and I’m so grateful for it. Already one of my favorite albums of the year — maybe even of all time.”
dont smile at me
“don’t smile at me is a stunning intro to Billie Eilish’s unique sound. Dark, dreamy, and emotionally honest, it shows her talent even at just 15. Tracks like “bellyache,” “watch,” and “idontwannabeyouanymore” are standout highlights that still hold up. Not every song hits equally hard, but the rawness is part of its charm. A strong, memorable debut that hinted at the star Billie was about to become.”
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
“coming back to this but i lowkey rated it too high it’s sooooo fucking boring like it’s kind of wild this won awards because it just doesn’t feel like she’s pushing herself at all. sonically she can go way further than this it’s just a letdown. i feel like she either needs to work with a new producer or have FINNEAS collaborate with other people because this sound is getting a little tired idk it just didn’t hit for me”
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
“Such a good album from lyrics to instrumental. From start to finish transitions were nice and lyrics were understandable. It’s storytelling and calm and enjoyable. Her best album for sure, my favs is chiriro & blue!”
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
