One of the most immersive and creative projects ever made. my bloody valentine pushed the boundaries of what rock music sounded like, crafting a sound that feels less like a collection of songs and more like a dream you slowly drift through. Although not being the first of its kind, this album put the genre of Shoegaze on the map. The album’s defining feature is its sound. Layers of heavily processed guitars blur together into walls of texture, creating the signature Shoegaze atmosphere. The instrumentation feels fluid, with melodies beneath waves of distortion and reverb. The vocals are soft, distant, and almost ghostlike, creating an intimate and surreal atmosphere. What makes this record so special is the blend between experimentation and beauty. Every aspect is complex and innovative, yet the songs themselves remain hypnotic. All of these elements combine to create not only an undeniable 10/10, but the greatest album ever in my book.
