Pink Floyd (1975)
“Please don’t crucify me for this take. ”
“If this album could be described in one word, I would call it ambiguous. You take 5 songs and stretch it out to be over 40 minutes long and you get "Wish You Were Here”. I am not saying I am not a fan of the music, and I definitely don't subscribe to the ideology that the music Pink Floyd produces only gets good after 5 minutes, because that is simply not the case: The songs each have their own meaning, with most of the production taking place during the Vietnam War many of their songs require historical context to fully appreciate what they are saying. I won't do a deep dive into the songs themselves because I actually do not care for the songs themselves that much but I will say that if you have 45 minutes laying around then I would for sure say that getting yourself “comfortably numb” and listening start to finish to this album wouldn't be a bad way to pass up some free time. Upon seeing that this album is ranked second or third all time on this platform I took a moment to think about whether or not I wasnt looking deep enough into the songs and the message… But I will not digress, I stand on what I said, but it does not come as a surprise to me to see that the album is ranked so high”
