Stars Dance marks Selena Gomez’s full embrace of the dance-pop world, stepping away from her teen pop roots with a more mature sound. With catchy, upbeat tracks like “Come & Get It” and “Slow Down,” the album radiates a carefree energy, showcasing Selena’s smooth vocals over shimmering electronic beats. While the album shines in its infectious hooks and dancefloor anthems, it occasionally feels uneven. Some songs lack the depth or emotional connection to make them stand out in the long run. However, Selena’s growth as an artist is evident, and there’s a palpable confidence in the way she owns each track. Stars Dance isn’t a perfect album, but it’s a solid and fun debut that set the stage for Selena’s evolution as both a singer and performer. It’s a good balance of pop fun and personal growth, even if a few tracks don’t fully land.
