Kiss Land
The Weeknd (2012)
“Album Review #29”
“LISTENED: 08/20/2025 Good improvement for The Weeknd on this album, but I don’t like most songs on it. Theme isn’t bad either, but nothing on this album really hooked me on its message.”

The Weeknds debut album is definitely a love it or hate it piece. I think this is one of his best album, the whole vibe and atmosphere on the album is incredible with a unique sounding production. The vocals, the lyrics and the story telling is insane and Able builds such a cool world to go along with this album. Top songs for me are ‘Professional’ ‘Adaptation’ ‘The Town’ ‘Wanderlust’ ‘Tears In The Rain’ ‘Kissland’ ‘Belong To The World’

The Canadian experimental R&B project the Weekend goes from riveting to underwhelming in its transition from its last mixtape to its first new commercial studio album.

Following three mixtapes released in quick succession that contained some of the most influential and gripping R&B of the new decade, Abel Tesfaye's bleak and atmospheric project makes its major label debut.
