Drake (2026)
“Album Review #80”
“LISTENED: 5/15/2026 Although this album has minimal melodies and sampling that I like, I feel like it was more made to serve the purpose of an introspective look into Drake’s mentality after his beef with Kendrick Lamar in 2024, along with other relationships. Yet even as I say introspective, I feel like I came out of this album learning barely anything new about Drake. I said this in my “For All The Dogs” review for Drake, but this album was exactly what I didn’t want, and that’s an album full of shots towards other artists, less melody-driven, and a concept that emotionally doesn’t make a lot of sense as you keep listening. Face value, I simply don’t like the music itself, but lyrically, Drake sounds like he doesn’t know what he wants, and honestly sounds really drained emotionally. This album seems like a huge calling to the artist who made it to work out their priorities and placement in the music industry.”
