STARFUCKER (Deluxe)
“Slayyyter takes you on one hell of a night out on STARFUCKER”
WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
“Smelling like burnt rubber and mall body mist, the pop provocateur’s loud, wild new album swerves hard into club antagonism.”
WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
“pop that finds salvation in the underbelly of American cinema”
WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
“While WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA i$ a little lacking in the writing department, $layyyter and her producer$ are leapfrogging many of the other figure$ currently trying to revive the$e "indie $leaze" $ound$.”
Troubled Paradise
“The proudly campy hyperpop singer’s debut is vibrant and ridiculous, for better or worse.”
WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
“HIGHLIGHT TRACKS: DANCE… OLD TECHNOLOGY GAS STATION OLD FLING$ WHAT IS IT LIKE, TO BE LIKED? BRITTANY MURPHY. I love the trashiness that this album presents, but the fact she released 5/14 tracks before the album actually released is actually crazy 😭 Even though this album is so amazingly midwesternly trashy, I can’t help but also notice that the ideas that slayyyter explores in this album is either not fully developed, or, never mentioned again. This fact is though overshadowed by the fact this album has very high-intensity beats that occasionally outshine slayyyter’s voice. If you ignore the fact that the lyrics feel premature, this album is extremely good and that is presented in the fact that in this point in time, the album has 49 million streams 4 days after release despite Slayyyter having less than 3 million monthly listeners.”
S********R
“The epitome of a drama queen, a concept of being THAT GIRL! this perfect electronic pop album is the perfect blend of sass, sex, and beauty. Slayyyters use of vocals and production is so unique to her and I cannot help but fall in love with every song (except plastic for me). One of my top songs Miss Belladona sounds straight out of the early 2010s and has become a classic pop song in my eyes. And the title track being a deluxe song written after the album came out fits perfectly in the album, every track placement feels perfect. And With slayyyters next project releasing tommorow, will she be able to follow up this masterpiece? I sure hope so. Top 3: Miss Belladona, Memories of You, Starfucker”
WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
“The fact that Beat Up Chanel$ is the best track on Wor$t Girl in America is kind of a double-edged sword. On one side, it hits you with one of the best songs of the year—and one of Slayyyter’s best, period. But on the other, it kinda shakes the handle of the whole album, leaving you wanting another explosive bop that never quite comes. Tracks like Dance, Cannibalism, and Gas Station definitely get close—they sharpen up real nice—but none of them fully go for the kill like “Beat Up Chanel$.” Honestly, this feels like the moment where everyone should be watching Slayyyter’s every move, because it’s clear she didn’t come here just to dance in this war 😮💨”
WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
“wor$t girl in america… the singles ATE i’m sorry like CRANK??? it’s sooo good but why did she drop SO many singles 😭 like babe six out of fourteen?? and they’re all at the front too so by the time you get to the second half it’s like… okay the album is still good like i did enjoy it, and there are songs i like later on like BRITTANY MURPHY and WHAT IS IT LIKE, TO BE LIKED, but it just doesn’t hit the same as the singles idk i just wish she spaced them out more or kept some of them for the album, there’s no mystery when we already heard half of it overall pretty good tho it’s gonna go sooooo hard live”
WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
“some songs were AMAZING and others were just doing too much…”
WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
“Beautifully produced, shallow and boring storytelling.”
